So, 2020 hasn’t exactly gone to plan huh? One thing we have learned is how we can make big life changes for the greater good. Now we ask – what small changes can we make to help the world we live in?
One easy change that you know we’re a fan of, is switching to a reusable cup and we’re making it easier than ever. It’s time to amp up the positivity on 2020 and be an everyday hero…
What’s going on?
We are giving away 25,000 (yes, twenty five thousand!) reusable Boston Tea Party Ecoffee cups AND introducing a 25p discount for customers bringing their own cup across all 22 Boston Tea Party cafes. That’s right, September just got seriously exciting…
When can I get involved?
From Friday (4th Sept) if you buy a takeaway coffee (or any hot drink) you’ll be able to get your hands on a free reusable cup, but get a shuffle on, when they’re gone, they’re gone!
Either go online to place your coffee order via click and collect here or pop into your local cafe to get your free cup.
If you’re already on the reusable journey (thank you), from Friday you’ll receive 25p off when you bring your own cup and order a takeaway hot drink, running through until January. Tell your friends and neighbours too.
Forgotten your cup? Don’t worry, it happens to all of us. Grab a loan a cup from us for £2.50 and get a full refund when you return it.
How to get your free cup – in 6 steps
You can order online, or pop into your local Boston and grab one when you buy a takeaway hot drink.
To order online:
- Head to our takeaway site here
- Choose your local Boston from the menu
- Select which hot drink you’d like to buy
- You’ll see your cup options, select ‘Free Cup’ (if you’ve ordered a particular size of coffee, select the corresponding size of free cup)
- Checkout as you usually would, choosing a pickup time and you’ll see you’ve only been charged for your drink
- Come in to the cafe at your chosen pick up time and boom! Free cup is yours.
How to get your discount – in 6 steps
Again you can do this online or in your local Boston cafe.
To order online:
- Head to our takeaway site here
- Choose your local Boston from the menu
- Select which hot drink you’d like to buy
- You’ll see your cup options, select ‘I’ll bring my own cup for 25p off’
- Checkout as you usually would, choosing a pickup time and you’ll see your discount appear there
- Come in to the cafe at your chosen pick up time, with your cup and enjoy!
Why on earth are we doing this?
Now, more than ever it’s important to make those small life changes that can make a big difference. A couple of super important reasons why we want to pave the way for a green recovery from Covid-19:
1. The majority of big coffee chains are still refusing to accept reusable cups. Why? When using reusables has been declared safe in a statement signed by 119 scientists published on 22nd June. We’re trying to drive that change and you can help us.
2. The completely understandable use of PPE during the pandemic means the planet faces a spike of single use plastic from the waste associated with it. It means the battle against plastic waste has never been more important. Getting your pal to make that little change to a reusable cup? You’re an absolute hero in our eyes.
3. ‘Contactless Coffee’ has proven a successful way of serving great takeaway coffee safely, in reusable cups. We want more people to get involved and experience the buzz of a true win win – win for you, win for the planet.

“We’ve seen global brands take a huge step backwards on their ‘sustainability agenda’ using Covid-19 as an excuse to no longer accept reusables. Even when deemed safe by science they drag their heels. Are the big boys serious about being sustainable or is this just pure purpose washing?”
