As the days become shorter and the weather gets that bit more chilly, we’re welcoming autumn with some delicious new dishes hitting our menu.
Thank you to those who answered our menu feedback questionnaire on this blog (we were overwhelmed with your responses!), your comments and suggestions have been taken into account during the development process along with the current trends to help shape the new items.
Taking centre stage of the new menu is the Sweetcorn Hash (main picture), served with halloumi, avocado & tomato salsa topped with a couple of poached eggs. It’s been extremely popular in both our Plymouth and Bath cafes who have been trialling the menu over the past few weeks. Once you’ve tried it, I’m sure you will agree!
Not to be outdone is the Sardines on Toast. Caught from Cornish waters, the sardines are served with roasted tomatoes, poached egg and a lemon & dill yoghurt.
For those looking for something lighter, give the Smashed Avocado on Pumpernickel Rye a try! Another popular dish, the combination of avocado, houmous, chilli and poached eggs works brilliantly together. The rye we use is wheat free, and the dish can be made vegan on request.
The delicious Teriyaki Salmon is served on a bed of brown rice, red pepper, pak choi and spring onions. As with all our fish, our salmon is certified from sustainable waters and the flavour of the salmon works beautifully with the teriyaki sauce.
Our Veggie Burger has been a hot topic for a number of years now, and whenever we change it we seem to annoy its legion of avid fans, although that does change once they give the new one a go. Our latest incarnation is a brioche bun stacked full of sweetcorn fritters, feta, avocado, chilli and tzatziki. As always we serve with chips and coleslaw. Make sure you come hungry, it’s a sizeable feed!
Another Boston classic is the Club Sandwich, and we are delighted that it’s back! Having bulked up in its absence, the triple decker is packed with fillings and we’re sure will have a welcome return.
Finally, something for those with a sweet tooth. The crowd pleasing Nutella on Toast with bananas and hazelnuts is a lovely treat and brings back memories of holidays (for me anyway!).
